Mechanical Repair

Even the most sophisticated and reliable vehicles occasionally require a hands-on approach for repair. Our manufacturer trained technicians are experienced in a wide variety of mechanical fault finding and repair, backed up with a wealth of knowledge ensuring your vehicles are kept legal and compliant as well as reliable and efficient.

We work on a wide range of vehicles from 3.5 ton vans up to 44 ton tractor units and trailer combinations as well as everything in between.

We have the latest equipment to enable quick and efficient rectification of even the most challenging of vehicle repairs, so whether that is a clutch replacement on a tractor unit or a suspension air bag on a loaded trailer it really isn’t a problem, it’s what we do.

Roller Brake Testing

A key part of any thorough maintenance regime, and a current hot topic. We have had an on-site DVSA approved roller brake tester for a number of years, which is calibrated and updated regularly.

We carry out roller brake testing for a wide range of customers and vehicles from coaches to agricultural trailers often at short notice.

As we are located just off the A38 we are easily accessible, so if you need a loaded brake test and you are passing, just give us a call and we will do our best to assist you.

Roadside Assistance

Available to assist our customers 24 hours a day should the need arise, although we maintain vehicles to a high standard that shouldn’t let you down, occasionally vehicles do. We are here to assist covering large areas of Devon and Somerset. We operate a service vehicle with a range of parts available on-board to assist in getting your vehicle back on the road as quickly as possible. We also deal with some great companies who can assist with recovery if the vehicle cannot be returned to service with an emergency roadside repair.

Technical Vehicle Diagnostics

We have numerous different diagnostic solutions depending on the type of repair required. We have invested and continue to invest in the latest and best diagnostic equipment available, from all makes diagnostic packages to manufacturer stand alone equipment.

Backed up by training on all the latest systems fitted on advanced modern day commercial vehicles, we can assist in fault finding or repair on a wide range of vehicles, even the occasional coach.

A common misconception is that a diagnostic tool ‘fixes’ things on a vehicle. Really it is only a tool to guide you towards a particular system in order to perform an effective diagnosis, which is why wherever possible we advise to book for a repair rather than to read a fault code.

Annual Test (MOT) Preparation

We carry out MOT preparations for all sorts of customers, whether you are a large fleet customer or individual horsebox owners. Our philosophy is always on our duty of care to you and your operators licence and we are proud to exceed the national average for our annual test pass rate.

We have many years experience of all types of vehicles from Leyland 45’s to Volvo FH Tractor units and we can also advise on preventative maintenance and routine servicing, ensuring your investment in a vehicle turns out to be a reliable one.

With great working relationships with all local authorised testing facilities and some a little further afield, we can ensure to get your vehicle tested in a timely manner.

Routine Servicing

When it comes to return on investment, regular servicing to the correct standard is essential in getting the best performance and reliability from your vehicle and it may just be the most cost effective way to save money in the long run.

There is an old saying that goes something like ‘Oil is cheaper than metal’ and that still (just about) remains the case.

We use Texaco Lubricants as a core of our workshop lubricants and coupled with OE or OE equivalent filters to help ensure the long and reliable use of your vehicle’s internal components.

From gearbox oil refreshes to engine and filter services, we are always happy to advise what we believe to be the most cost effective and sensible approaches to your maintenance plan, ensuring you aren’t changing engine oil too regularly or your brake fluid not often enough.

Periodic Maintenance Inspections

PMI’s are the backbone of a compliant and effective maintenance program. We believe strongly in preventative maintenance as a safe and cost effective way of staying compliant and reducing vehicle downtime to its absolute minimum.

We were early adopters of the R2C electronic inspection platform and we continue to use this for all our inspection paperwork, which is DVSA ‘Earned Recognition’ ready and allows us to schedule inspections for years into the future and sends you reminders of when you are next due, and also gives you access to a portal to easily access any documents you require and monitor your vehicle’s condition.

We have 3 inspection pits, a beam setter, roller brake tester, play detectors as well as all the calibrated equipment you would expect from a ATF test lane to ensure your vehicles are maintained and monitored for safety to the highest standards, giving you peace of mind so that you can concentrate on your day job.
